Navy grog

The Navy grog was originally nothing more than rum diluted in water. Later, the British Royal Navy introduced lime juice in the sailors' diet, which gave rise to the name of Limeys, used by the Americans to refer to the English, perhaps due to their taste for grog with lime juice. What is certain is that even the old sea wolves would approve of this beautiful drink.

  • Two parts of black rum;

  • A piece of clear rum;

  • A piece of lime juice;

  • A piece of orange juice;

  • A piece of pineapple juice;

  • A part of guava nectar;

  • One teaspoon of Falernum per cup;

  • Peppermint leaves;

  • Crushed ice;

  1. Put half a cup of crushed ice in a blender, add the two rum types and all the fruit juices, as well as the teaspoon (or a little more, to taste) of Falernum (syrup with ginger and lime flavor).

  2. Operate the blender for ten seconds at high speed, then pour the mixture into a tall glass,

  3. Lightly crush the peppermint leaves, so that they release their aroma, and dip a few on the surface of the cocktail.

  4. Serve with a straw.
