Mint julep
The preparation of a good julep requires a lot of time, so the good hosts prepare a good amount of these before the arrival of the visitors, leaving them stored in the refrigerator.
-
A mug (!) Of Bourbon;
-
A large sprig of fresh peppermint;
-
One teaspoon of sugar;
-
Two tablespoons of water;
-
A teaspoon of Barbados rum;
-
Crushed ice;
-
Separate about fifteen peppermint leaves for flavor and put them in a beer mug or a glass.
-
Add sugar and water and stir with a spoon until the mint leaves are completely broken and the sugar dissolves. Remove the remains of mint.
-
Now fill the mug with crushed ice and pour Bourbon down to about two fingers from the edges of the mug.
-
Stir the mixture well and pour a teaspoon of rum on top.
-
Decorate with peppermint sprigs so that your guest is forced to touch them with his nose each time he takes the glass to his mouth.
