It is a relic from the old days of American "Prohibition" and was originally made with "gin a hammer", of very dubious quality. A good dry gin certainly improves the cocktail. The latter can be made drier or sweeter by varying the proportions of dry and sweet vermouth.
-
Three parts of dry gin;
-
A piece of orange juice;
-
Half a part of dry vermouth;
-
Half a part of sweet vermouth;
-
Cubos de gelo;

-
Pour into a cocktail glass and serve without any decoration.
